There is also a Medical Encyclopedia and a dictionary, and directories to find doctors, dentists and hospitals. Also available in Spanish (other languages are included but to a lesser extent).

This tutorial from the Medline Plus and the National Library of Medicine teaches you how to evaluate health information that you find on the Web. It is about 16 minutes long and requires a flash plug-in.

American Medical Association

A physician locator, with each doctor's education and other background; a hospital finder; policy statements of the Association about topics such as ethics and health insurance reform; news; research articles from medical publications such as JAMA, the A.M.A. journal; and consumer health material about a wide variety of conditions.
