Probably the first place on the web to check for nonprofit concerns.  A directory of 61,000 nonprofit organizations; resources for donors, nonprofit administrators and fundraisers; statistics on foundations and their funding histories; news; trends; technology; and much more are available at this premier site.  With an online classroom, an online library with material about all conceivable nonprofit subjects, resources for putting your organization on the web at no cost, a newsletter, a biweekly Request for Proposals Bulletin, and an online question and answer service.

A division of the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy of The Urban Institute, the Center provides data about organizations and their activities as well as about state-by-state giving statistics.  With IRS forms, links, and bibliography.

A megasite, with a vast array of how-to material, including starting and operating  philanthropic organizations, job hunting in the nonprofits sector, finding accounting and technical assistance, donating online, and learning about planned giving programs.

 

Nonprofit Good Practice Guide

Information well organized by topic on a variety of subjects such as advocacy, financial management, marketing, technology, and volunteer management. Other resources include a glossary, a newsletter (requires users to sign up first for free) and a section of hot topics (Board Member 101, IRS Form 990, peer coaching, etc.).
