Status of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act:

2019 Enrollment period: Nov.1-Dec.15

The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, is still in effect. Persons needing health insurance can still sign up at healthcare.gov between Nov. 1, 2019 and Dec. 15, 2019.  Changes to existing insurance policies can also be made during this time.  An important change for this year is the elimination of the "individual mandate." Persons without health insurance will not be required to pay a penalty.
