Registration
As per NJ state law, public libraries provide voter registration forms. Please see a staff member if you need one.

The registration deadline to vote at the next election is 21 days prior to election day. Print out the form and fill out the information. If you reside in Essex County, the form may be mailed or delivered in person to:

To register in New Jersey you must:

be a citizen of the United States

be at least 17 years of age (you may register to vote if you are at least 17 years old but cannot vote until reaching the age of 18)

be a resident of NJ and your county and at your address at least 30 days before the next election

not be serving a sentence of incarceration as the result of a conviction of any indictable offense under the laws of this or another state or of the United States.
Vote By Mail
Any NJ voter may now vote by absentee ballot for any election. You do not need a reason for an absentee ballot.
