Other sources:

Census Online: Links to Online Census Records

http://www.census-online.com/links

Enumeration Forms

http://usa.ipums.org/usa/voliii/tEnumForm.shtml

"Contains facsimile copies of the enumeration forms used in the decennial census of the United States from 1860 through 2000." Census questions and blank forms are provided to help researchers better understand census forms.

Generating Soundex Codes in One Step

http://www.stevemorse.org/census/soundex.html

The Soundex system is a method by which surnames were indexed in the 1880, 1900, 1910, and 1920 US Census. It is based on the way a last name sounds rather than the way it is spelled. The system was developed so that a surname could be located even though it may have been recorded under various spellings, like Smyth and Smith. Every soundex code consists of a letter and three numbers, such as W-252 and is used to search for census records.
