Foundation Center and Guidestar merged on February 19, 2019 to form Candid, an organization which provides what each did in one portal. It is a foundation directory and a charity checker which allows you to compare nonprofit organizations. It also provides information on training for nonprofit employees, shows data in the nonprofit sector, keeps you informed with the latest news, you can sign up for their newsletter, and so much more.

A division of the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy of The Urban Institute, the Center provides data about organizations and their activities as well as about state-by-state giving statistics.  With IRS forms, links, and bibliography.


National Council of Nonprofits


"National Council of Nonprofits is the network of state and regional nonprofit associations serving more than 25,000 member organizations."

Nonprofit news, a resource directory, special reports, and articles covering topics such as planned giving, fundraising, management, and marketing. The journal stopped publication in January 2020, but the site remains active as an information resource.
