U.S. GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN

Internet Archive -  http://archive.org/web/web.php - copies of many government websites can be accessed at this location, but you must have a URL.  You cannot search by keyword.

If a patron is looking for a specific piece of documentation, we may have it in print at the Main Library.  Government reports and periodicals from 1976-present are listed in Clavis.

Free Commercial Sources:

A number of commercial databases are offering free access for the duration of the shutdown

-Ebscohost - free access to the ERIC database - http://www.ebsco.com/freeERIC

- Social Explorer, Oxford University Press  (Census information)

email onlinereference@oup.com to request a username and password.

The Social Security Office is not printing benefit verification letters during the shutdown.  Patrons can access and print their letters (and get other SSA information and services) by creating a "My Social Security" account at http://www.socialsecurity.gov.  Click on the logo below to go directly to the sign up/sign in page.
